Damn how long do you have to be here to be part of the " in crowd"

This isn't directed at the few nice people I have met.

It is to the people who love you to comment on their blogs and sympathise with them but dont give a shit about commenting unless you are part of the " in crowd"

You start to feel you belong ...talk about something close to you ...who replies ...hmm the nice people.

Meanwhile the others are too busy kissing arse and sympathising about trivialities.

These are the people that welcome your comments but are too busy or too important or maybe just too full of FIGJAM for the rest.

So ..how do i become little miss popularity and part of the " in crowd " and do I want to?

Oops i got kinda personal.

Jess

I hope you're not talking about me!

It's never been my aim to be part of the 'in' crowd at JU.  I'm not even sure that I am part of the 'in' crowd.

I just respond to people if I have something to say.  If I don't respond, it's not because I'm being snobby.  I just don't have anything to add.

FIGJAM?  Nah, not me.

Its human tendency to want to be part of a group, to be loved, to be liked, to be heard. Those are instinctive tendencies that comes about because we are social creatures. Hence no man is an island.

I could not agree with you more when you subtlely say you want attention, tell me who would not!? I want that too but am careful not to crave for it. If it eludes you, something is probably wrong and do of course give yourself a character check.

Being popular does not come overnight, there has to be something about people that makes them popular. There are the good and of course the bad types of popularity. Popular because you are rich even if you have a questionable character is not good....no no!
Being popular because you are that goody two shoe, caring neighbour, or model student even if you might not be well-to-do sure makes you a better person. Even having positive attributes(character) might not make you popular these days where people's values are so warped. You however, would definitely count as my friend...not that i do not hang out with rich people. But that makes you popular in my eyes at least positively.

Just live life positively and do the best of your ability, trust me it is not really important to conform to the world or what people think about you. I ditched that idea a long while ago! Just be yourself.

Hello there..I have been reading your stuff and I always like it, but I go through phases on commenting. Sometimes there is nothing more to say because it has been said. It is nice to hear good job though so good job!

P.S. I am ranked in the seventies so my comment might not help.

TY Retro ..I think.

I don't really care what people think as long as you are true to yourself.

TY Kelly ...nice to hear your opinion anytime.

I understand ..I only say something ..when I have something to say

I am only ranked in the 60's

I like what you have to say too.

Because I've been described as a 'heavy hitter' recently and I never considered myself to be one of those either.  That comment was made based on my ranking, and I find that people will base their opinion of me on my rank instead of what I write about.

To be honest, I'm starting to feel like I don't 'belong' around here much these days...and that comment wasn't intended to induce sympathy or cries of "oh, but you do!!".  It was just a statement of fact.

P.S. One time I made a comment on someones blog and I was basically saying "good job", I sincerely enjoyed the article but they came back and more or less singled me out for not being personal enough. I'm like,"What the?!" I don't spill my guts in the real world to just anyone so why would I do it here. So, I'm hesitant to comment sometimes now.

Dharma ..ranks dont influence me, one way or the other.

I judge people on want I see.

I don't care if someone is royalty/president/prime minister/pope

I judge people on who they are.

Don't let it bother you Kelly

That is their problem ..not yours

I find I just don't bother visiting certain peoples blogs.

I'm glad that you are rank-blind, Jess.  I don't take much notice of it myself, to be honest.

I find I just don't bother visiting certain peoples blogs.

I know all too well what you mean.

Dharma ..i believe under all the bullshit people are people.

Some good ..some bad ..some downright nasty.

Respect is earned ..not given out because of a title or their perception of importance.

I don't comment as often as I used to, only because I no longer have internet use at home and have a limited amount of time using public computers... having said that, I think it really takes awhile for new bloggers to attract attention to the 'older' bloggers. I know that you have been writing for a bit now, and it's great to have you here. I have really enjoyed reading.
